When is Digest SP Indicated? Digestase SP contains the carbohydrases and the peptidases that reside on the brush border cells of the intestine. These enzymes have been found to be an integral part of digestion that have often been missed when only taking general enzymes (such as Quantum Digest). These enzymes are so important because when they are missing, the food that is eaten will be left to rot in the intestine causing a flux of toxins that are released to the liver and then to the blood stream. These toxins then become the “food” for infection sites and pathogenic organisms in the body, especially at the thyroid and the prostate. Therefore, just by replacing the enzymes on the brush border, many times you will be able to take care of infection sites such as on the thyroid and prostate without having to use an anti-infective.
